Spanish Galicia Galicia is one of the 19 autonomous regions of Spain. It lies on the Atlantic Ocean, north of Portugal and south of the Bay of Biscay in the northwest of the country. It is made up of the four provinces; A Coruna, Lugo, Ourense, and Pontevedra Madrid Capital of Spain Madrid is the capital of Spain and of Madrid province. It lies in central Spain on the Manzanares River and is almost in the exact geographic centre of the country. It is the focus of its own autonomous region. The Balearic Islands A look at the Spanish archipelago of the Balearic Islands or Islas Baleares in the western Mediterranean. This island group comprises Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. The Spanish region of Catalonia A look at Catalonia or Catalunya, the autonomous region in north east Spain. Including it's four provinces - Girona in the north, Barcelona to the east, in the south Tarragona and landlocked Lleida in the western part of the region. Andalucia For many people Andalucia is all that they imagine Spain to be. Great climate, sun, sea and beaches, bullfighting, sherry and flamenco.
