Why Texas Holdem is Great for Beginners
By: Ellie Schneider

It is easier to play Texas Holdem then some of the other poker games because everyone is using the same cards with the exception of their hole cards to make the best hand. Seeing the cards lined up on the table allows you a better perspective on the cards then if they were in your hand.

One of the many advantages Texas Holdem Poker has for beginners is that because the cards with the exception of your 2 hole cards are communal it is easier to get a read on the other players. You can watch the player‘s eyes and you can get an idea of what each player has or is trying to make. When the cards are turned over in the communal pile one at a time you can watch the expression of the other players faces. This makes bluffing much harder, even a hard core poker veteran will tend to look at a card they can use a little longer then they should. When you see a player constantly going back from their hand to a specific card they are giving away that they are going to use that card or are hoping to be able to use the card.

Betting in Texas Holdem Poker is fairly simple. There are 4 rounds in the Texas Holdem and after each round a new round of betting is made. Pots grow very fast in Texas Holdem and if you don’t play smart you will be one of the losers who are eliminated fast from the game. If you play with your head it is possible to win large sums of money in just a few rounds of play.

Since Texas Holdem Poker is the most played poker game in poker rooms all around the world it is easier to find a better class of players. This makes the game more challenging and forces you to play better every time you play it also makes it easier to find a group of people that know how to play Texas Holdem. Games like caribbean stud pokerare much less popular so to find a group of people interested and knowledgeable in this poker variation is very difficult.

I can not even begin to tell you why Texas Holdem is so popular, but I can explain its continued popularity and growth. It is simple really, the more people who play the more interest in the game grows. Now we have many Texas Holdem based TV shows spreading the game to many people who would never have otherwise learned the game. Texas Holdem has more professional players then any other casino game played today. Some pro‘s even get very lucrative sponsorship deals when earn them millions of dollars every year just for having a sponsors name on his shirt while they play the game.

The longer Texas Holdem poker is the most popular poker game the more people that are going to start playing it, making its popularity and its number of players infinite. This means that Texas Holdem is going to be around for a long time.
