Videos the Great Way to Learn

When I first decided that I wanted to get into internet marketing I knew that I would need a website. The task seemed very difficult as I knew nothing about how to even begin. Thankfully I came across some real good videos that took me through all the necessary steps. Through watching videos I was able to learn all the things that I needed to know to set up my first site.

There are countless benefits to watching videos but I want to mention 5

1) Watching the videos taught me the software programs that I would need to begin and whereto download them. As I have said I didn’t know at all what a FTP program was or what editor to use to edit my pages. One of the most valuable lessons was about domains and hosting co. I would have been lost at pointing my new domain to my hosting co.

2) With the videos you are able to follow along at your own pace. If you need to stop the videos for any reason you simply pause them. If you just didn’t get something the first time it was explained you can simply watch that part over again. You can watch the videos over and over again.

3) Sometimes the person who is making the videos has special offers for those watching their videos. For example, I was able to get the first month free with my hosting. This allowed me time to set up my site and see if I liked the way it worked with out paying anything.

4) When you are starting something new you want to guided. There is nothing better than the ability to walk in the footsteps of someone successful. To be able to look over their shoulders and see actually what they do to create their webpages. I picked up little tricks like saving all pages, images or anything else in the same folder so that it will easier to upload to my site.

5) Another great thing about watching videos was the new techniques that you learn. I never heard the term social book-marking before watching. I was able to sign up with these networks and use their services for my site.

When I began online I was a total newbie. I had never seen a control panel, had no idea of what FTP meant or what to look for in a hosting co. The videos that I saw showed me how to completely go through all the steps needed to set up a website. The person doing the video starts from nothing and goes through all the steps they take to make their website.

When seeking out videos to watch, seek out people who already have successful websites. Why watch someone who may not know what they are doing? I personally recommend Jean Philippe Schoeffel who has a great video set called Visitor Sense: How to turn your site into Money. Though, I have to say that I have found some really good videos that were free for example Mini Sites Reveled.
