The United States immigration term for a fiancée visa is the K1 visa. This intended purpose of this is to allow United States citizens to bring in people form foreign countries that they want to marry. This is so that these people will be allowed into the country permanently while they are married to the citizen.

The Fiancee Visa, also known as K1 Visa, or K1 Fiancee Visa, is the best way to get your Alien fiancé (foreign fiancée) to the United States for the purpose of marrying her here. The K 1 Fiancee Visa allows her to enter the USA for 90 days giving you plenty of time to get married or if you decide not to marry then before 90 days are up she must return back home. The K1 Visa is a type of temporary immigration visa.

You apply by filing an I-129F Petition for Alien Finance in the United States; During this period, the K1 Visa allows you two to get married and she can stay here with you and never has to leave.
Later your new wife must apply for the removal of the temporary status and after two years of marriage she can become a permanent United States resident and after 5 years, a United States citizen.

You will need to show documents to prove your relationship with your fiancee so keep track of those emails you exchanged with each other, letters, photos, plane tickets and any other proof
that you have a relationship going on.

There are several eligibility requirements: First, you and your fiancée must be free to marry each other. This means that both partners must be unmarried, or that any ended marriages have been finalized with divorce, annulment or death. Secondly, you must have met with your fiancée in person within the last two years before filing for the k1 visa. Third, you and your fiancée must marry within 90 days of her entrance to the United States. Note that you can also apply to bring your fiancée’s children to the country if they are less than 21 years of age and unmarried. Four, The petitioner must also meet a minimum income requirement that is above the poverty level set by the Congress every year. The foreign fiancee must not have any criminal record. Finally, she must pass the medical exam at a clinic approved by the U.S. consulate.
