The Different Types Of Beds Available Nowadays
By: Mike Tully

There are various types of beds on the market nowadays. Shopping for a car for example could be a tough thing to do. But with all the options that you have concerning beds, you may have a great time choosing the one that suits you best. However, there are various types of beds, each with a specific function or a set accommodation purpose. For instance, there are beds which can hold more than one people at a time. On the other hand, other beds are made for only a single person.

Let’s have a look at the twin bed. The twin bed is normally a small bed designed for only one person. Twin beds are strictly made for one person. So, you may have to face enough trouble if you try to fit two persons in this bed. In fact, if you are obese, you might even find it difficult to sleep with comfort on the twin bed. Then, you may come across the king and queen beds. These beds have been made to accommodate more than one person. If compared, twin beds and king beds have little difference between them. King or queen beds are basically the types of beds that married couples tend to purchase.

Moreover, there are the bunk beds. Bunks beds have been designed especially for two people. One can occupy the bottom bed while the other one has no other choice than to sleep on the top. These beds could be mostly suitable in families where there are two brothers or sisters who want to share the same room. Also, with bunk beds enough space in a room can be spared rather than putting separate beds for each person. Figures may affirm the variation of sales concerning different types of beds. These can be shown as follows: Queen beds, 50 percent; king beds, 20 percent; twin beds, 25 percent and bunk beds approximately 5 percent.

Furthermore, there may be even more types of beds. Some could be described as wall beds, flat beds and water beds among others. Similarly, different styles come with the different kinds of beds. For example, the twin bed can come in long and extra long. The same may as well apply for king and queen beds. Additionally, traditional beds may exist with straight heads and foot boards while some beds do not even have any of these features. Besides, there are canopy beds with a canopy forming the roof of the bed. Other types of beds include drawer beds and slat beds. The slat beds have footboards in which slats are incorporated.

Then there are various types of mattresses to go with your bed. Some mattresses include the feather mattress, the water bed mattress, the latex foam mattress and the pillow top mattress among many others. With so many options that exist, you can easily point out the bed that could suit you and your family best. Should you require a bed for a specific purpose, you could be quite sure that your needs would be met.
