THE BATTLE OF SEXES

“He created Men and Women in His own Image and Likeness.” Women can do what men can do. What are the things which men can do and women can’t? And what are the things which women can do and men don’t? Historically in Jesus’ era counting on people in cities, towns, village are only for men never mine the presence of women. They never give any importance on women’s concerns. Women don’t have the right to participate and represent a clan or even to their family on public affairs, association and activities.

Today we see that woman do what man does. There are countries govern by women, cities, provinces and localities. Even to different organizations, agencies, groups, associations, many are represented or headed by women. There are women who have great success in their careers, sports, entertainment, education etc. Before we seldom heard women on this stage, we officially had that consciousness for men to have that kind of power and position.

In the family, traditionally wives are left at home to care for children and keepers of the house. Men are at work to support his family. But now we find out that there are men who took care of children and keepers of the house while their wives work for family support.

In sports, since before, sports are for men. We always heard and read at any printed materials, news reports on television and radio about man’s success in sports. Currently we have already great champions who are women, they make their name valiant in sports same as men does.

In the military, it was already imprinted in our mind that when we heard on this career we have that impression on men’s reputation. But actually we have already women who are soldiers, police, secret service, body guards, NBI, FBI, Navy, etc. There are officials who are women. They excel even to this civil department.

In leadership, concepts on presidents, ministers, senators, member of the congress, governors, mayors are govern by men. Today we have countries leaders who are women; there are already vast numbers of ladies public servant. There are governments govern by a woman. In our instinct as influence by our traditions we have that concept of men’s governance.

Women already reach the level of equality to men’s performance and functions in society. There are people quarreled regarding this issue who is best and more prominent in these two sexes.

Remember God created us in His Image and Likeness. We are created with the same purpose. This is only a manifestation that we both created equally. Maybe there are feelings which men can feel but not to women. And there are also feelings to women which men don’t have. It is by nature that we are made with perfection but different in gift. We both are created with the same purpose but differ in functions and level in society but only we do have the same goal in life which is to fulfill the plan of his Kingdom.

There are men and women who are great, excellent, best and good. But what makes them like that its because they strive hard and does doing their part to fulfill what is planned according to there fate. Even if we are not great men and women but we are great in the eyes of our fellow citizen if we do what is basically our task as good citizen in our country.
