Repitition in Branding Makes a Lasting Impression By: Jonathan Munk
Even the most professional, standout logo design will do little to help a company unless people see it on a regular basis. Exposing people to a logo is key to helping build brand recognition. The idea of using repetition to make lasting impressions is not new. Advertisers know that in order for people to be able to remember a certain advertisement and act on it, it takes dozens of impressions. That’s precisely why advertisers break up advertisements into groups they call campaigns. They repeat an ad over and over until they have reached their target audience dozens of times. Business owners ought to follow the same concept. The more exposure a logo gets, the more impressions the logo is making. Consider how often we, as consumers, are bombarded by advertising and logos. We see them wherever we go. But how many of them can you remember? Probably only the ones that you have seen more than once, twice, or even 10 times. The most memorable logos are simple and easy to recognize. Just as important: those are the logos we have seen dozens or thousands of times before. Once you have a logo, use it as much as possible and help potential customers build an image of your company in their minds.
