Religions would not allow unity

We shall have to accept that the first division of this mankind is on the basis of different religions. We can have a look on the man and because of his language, because of his clothes, because of his hair style, because of greeting words and blessings he gives, we can identify the man and can identify his religion. We have seen that all the religions are having their own religious books, their own way of worshiping God, their own method of praying before God, their own religious places and heir own festivals and days of celebrations. The people in different religions take meat, but they are having specific species and they do not cross those limits. The method of marriage and the number of wives is also prescribed. The method of divorce is different and similarly they have different obligations on the law of maintenance. The law of succession is also different with different religions.

In some countries they have got based on their religions and people from other religions are not governed under that law. All people in different religions are demanding that their personal law should be different because they want to follow the law contained in their religious books and therefore, most of the countries have got no common civil code.

It is on record that people of one religion when they were ruling people of a different set of people, they had been converting the people from other religions and if they were not agreeing different methods had been utilized for conversion. We have seen in India that when the Muslims came, they converted the people as Muslims and when Christians came they converted the people as Christians. And at one stage in 1947 we had to divide this India into two parts Bharat and Pakistan and when they were dividing, they killed millions of people and millions had to migrate to unknown places where they took decades to resettle.

Religion is not playing a good role even today because we are heading towards another world war and that world war shall be between the two sets of religious people and there shall be huge killing. In spite of all wisdom the people could not bring a common religion collecting all good things from all the religions. Once there had been an effort by Akbar the great, but he failed and then Guru Arjun Dev the 5th Guru of the Sikhs tried when he compiled Shri Guru Granth sahib collecting all good works irrespective of religion caste, colour and creed, but at a later stage this Granth( Holy Book) had been occupied by the Sikhs and people from other religions are giving only a formal respect. So the people cannot be united till these religions are there and now people in all the religions are trying to separate their religions and are collecting those items which could keep the religion separate from other religions.
