There are so many choices available for the perfect honeymoon destination that it may to prospective newlyweds. You want this trip to be filled with happy, and loving memories that will last a lifetime. The wrong honeymoon destination could be a huge disappointment. The first thing couples must decide is when to take their honeymoon. Years ago most people went immediately after the wedding, sometimes leaving on the same night! These days more and more couples are opting to wait a few months before taking their trip. After all the wedding fun and planning many people feel the post-wedding blues so postponing your honeymoon leaves something to look forward to. Many people will go away to a private bed and breakfast or for a short weekend getaway so they can enjoy a "mini-moon" right after the wedding. You'll end up being jet-lagged at both ends, leaving little time to enjoy your destination. Remember also that you'll be losing at least two of your days to travel. The Caribbean is an excellent choice if you are taking a week-long honeymoon. There are a number of islands to choose from, and most of them offer great package deals. You can stay at an all-inclusive luxury resort, where you will enjoy food, drinks, and entertainment for a good price. If you want to enjoy sunny beaches and each other's company, the Caribbean might be just the right spot. It is great in the winter months as well. If lying in the sun is too tame for you, there are many great choices for honeymooning in North America. There are a number of resorts featuring outdoor activities. Banff, Alberta is a gorgeous setting in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. If you love to ski and snowboard, then you two lovebirds will have a great time on the fabulous hills near Banff. It is truly a winter paradise, with lots of activities, including many one-of-a-kind shops. If you would rather stick close to home you could enjoy a week at a quaint bed and breakfast that offers spa packages such as massages. These getaways are a wonderful way to relax and enjoy plenty of quite time together. If you are fortunate enough to have two or more weeks for your honeymoon, the destination possibilities will seem endless. Currently the South Pacific is very popular. The weather is great all year and you can find luxury resorts to treat you like royalty. With all of these choices available, you and your future spouse need to spend some time deciding what you most want from your honeymoon. Sitting down with a stack of travel brochures will be almost as much fun as the trip itself. Make the right choice, and you'll create a most memorable experience.
