Pinpointing the ideal car insurance companies for your needs is a nightmare. As with most popular topics, it is increasingly difficult to filter through the dozens of spam "top quote" websites to find the best company. After spending considerable time weeding through the sites, I am happy to tell you the top 3 resources for top car insurance companies quotes. Mind you, this is just my own opinion, but I'm sure others will agree.

Progressive has been advertising a service to show you how their rates compare with others. I have seen more advertising for Progressive than all other car insurance companies. A week or so ago, I finally decided to check out their instant service. Although other people have found their very helpful, it was not working when I tried and all I got were Progressive quotes. Even so, it was still a simple form I was able to go through in a few minutes.

2. Insure.com

Insure is a very popular place that provides rates for car insurance companies plus many other kinds of insurance. They also have areas for life, businss, travel, etc. One check I always do on sites like this is whether they recognize my zip code. My zip code was added about 4 years ago, and it is surprising how many sites still say it is invalid. Sadly, Insure is a site like this. Although it really gets to me when they don't have my zip code, this is still a site you should use when shopping for car insurance.

3. CarInsurance.com

This final site I reviewed has the cleanest look of all. And get this. They recognized my new North Carolina zip code! You should keep in mind that that apparently they don't perform these car insurance companies reviews themselves. After the first screen I was taken to a screen to choose from other companies serving my area. I chose NetQuote.com to perform my search.

Realize that these sites doing comparisons of car insurance companies have their own desire to make money ahead of their attempt to save you money. Shop around even among comparison sites to receive the most savings.
